Jim Stephenson is a dynamic and exciting photographer concerned with the documentation of architecture and the built environment.
A trained architectural technologist with an extensive experience in the construction industry, Jim turned hobby into profession as an architectural photographer after fulfilling roles as “in-house photographer” for the architecture firms he was employed by.
This experience, working within the industry, gives him a unique understanding of buildings, how they differ in form and character, what the architect’s intent was and how to best purvey this in a photograph. This gives him an eye for an image that might otherwise have gone missed.
Jim is a member of the British Institute of Professional Photographers and his clients include Conran & Partners, the RIBA, Lomax Cassidy Edwards, Meloy Architects, Devereux Architects and the Morgan Carn Partnership. His images have been printed in a number of publications including the Sunday Times, The Guardian, Building Design, Sleeper Magazine, Building Magazine and Inside Building.
